Most people see the Gobi from a tour van. Here you sleep in it.

The guest house sits at the edge of Dalanzadgad, where the town stops and the flat ground runs to the Gurvan Saikhan mountains. Seven pine A-frame cabins, opened in 2024, each with four twin beds, a fridge, a water dispenser and a porch to sit on. A modern shared washroom and shower. Breakfast is included, WiFi is fast and free, and the host, Khishi, picks you up from the airport for nothing.

From the host, Khishi"Total of 7 houses, 4 beds in each house (twin beds). Modern washroom, shower and bathroom is public. Free WiFi, water dispenser in each house. Host can organize your tour in Gobi desert. Near children's amusement park and airport and bus station, mountain and landscape view."

Row of A-frame cabins in daylight, mountains behind the fence

Khishi meets you at the airport. The cabin is cool.

The Dalanzadgad flight lands in the afternoon. Pickup is free and takes five minutes. Drop the bags, open both windows, and the wind off the mountains does the rest.

"Excellent and prompt communication with Khishi who provided free airport pickup/drop off." Jocelyn, United States

Wooden plate of boiled mutton, carrot and potato on the porch table

Dinner on the porch, the Mongolian way.

Boiled mutton with carrot and potato. Ask in the afternoon and it is on the table by evening, or cook your own: every cabin has a kettle, fridge and microwave.

Cabins glowing at dusk with string lights along the fence

The fence lights come on. The sky does the rest.

Gobi sunsets last an hour. Some evenings there is a rainbow over the whole town; most evenings it is pink, then purple, then more stars than you have ever seen from a city.

Guests at a table between the lit cabins at night

Still outside. Nobody wants to go in yet.

The yard is quiet, the fence keeps the wind off, and the cabins throw enough light to talk by. Other guests are usually doing the same route as you, so plans get swapped.

"We played card games on the decking outside the room at night. Very friendly camp and a good breakfast." Patrick, United Kingdom

Wild purple iris in front of the cabins in morning light

Breakfast, then the driver pulls in.

Breakfast is served from six. Then Khishi's driver takes you out: Yolyn Am and back by lunch, Bayanzag for the afternoon, or the long loop to the dunes with a night out there and back here after.

"On short notice they arranged an experienced driver and custom tour for me and my family." Nikki, Netherlands
